US President Donald Trump on Saturday said that he has cancelled his representatives’ visit to Islamabad to meet with the Iranian delegation.
In a social media post on Truth Social, Trump said that too much time has been wasted travelling and claimed there is “tremendous infighting” in the Iranian leadership.

“I just cancelled the trip of my representatives going to Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians. Too much time wasted on traveling, too much work! Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their “leadership.” Nobody knows who is in charge, including them,” he said.

The US President also claimed Washington has “all the cards, they (Iranians) have none.” He further added that if Iran wants to talk, “all they have to do is call.”
Trump’s remarks came shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Pakistan after conveying Iran’s “position” on a workable framework to permanently end the war.
Araghchi, who arrived in Islamabad earlier today, met Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Iran had said that the aim of the visit was to discuss bilateral relations, rejecting direct talks with the United States.
The Iranian minister described his Pakistan visit as “very fruitful”, saying Tehran very much values the efforts of Islamabad towards bringing back peace to the region.
He further added that Iran has conveyed its position and that the ball is now in the US court.
“Shared Iran’s position concerning a workable framework to permanently end the war on Iran. Have yet to see if the U.S. is truly serious about diplomacy,” Araghchi added.
